Hybrid meeting

What is a hybrid meeting?

A hybrid meeting is a meeting where some participants are together in a meeting room and others join remotely, usually through a video platform such as Microsoft Teams. It needs a room with the right equipment and a booking that brings the room, the online link and any services together.

What a hybrid meeting needs

  • A room with a camera, microphones and a screen that suit the group size
  • The online meeting link in the same invite as the room
  • AV support or a room setup for larger or important meetings
  • Guests in the room registered with reception

Why hybrid meetings fail

The most common problems are practical: a room without the right equipment, a room too big or too small for the people actually present, or AV that was never told the meeting moved. Booking by purpose and equipment, not by habit, solves most of them.

How AskCody supports hybrid meetings

AskCody is built into Outlook and Exchange, so every Microsoft Teams meeting gets the right room, services and visitor setup, with no extra app to deploy. In the AskCody Bookings add-in, people filter rooms by equipment and attendee count, and AV support can be ordered with the meeting. See add-ins for Outlook.

Frequently asked questions

Is a hybrid meeting the same as a hybrid workplace?

No. A hybrid workplace is a way of organizing work between office and remote. A hybrid meeting is a single meeting with people in the room and online.

Does a hybrid meeting need a special room?

It needs a room with video and audio equipment that suits the number of people in the room.
