Meeting catering
What is meeting catering?
Meeting catering is the food and drink ordered for a meeting, such as coffee, breakfast or lunch, and the process that gets it to the right room at the right time. Each order is a service request: the organizer asks, a kitchen or caterer accepts and delivers, and finance charges the cost to the right place.
Why catering goes wrong
Catering usually breaks when the order lives outside the meeting. The organizer emails the kitchen, the meeting moves from 10:00 to 11:00, and nobody tells the kitchen. Breakfast arrives in an empty room, or the kitchen learns about lunch for 14 an hour before.
What good catering management looks like
- Orders are placed in the meeting invite, not in a separate email.
- The kitchen sees every order with its room, time, items and quantities.
- Deadlines and opening days give the kitchen time to prepare.
- When the meeting moves or is cancelled, the order follows.
How AskCody handles meeting catering
With AskCody, organizers order catering in the same Outlook invite as the room, with the AskCody Services add-in. The kitchen works from the Services Management Portal, can accept orders automatically, and every order can carry a cost center for finance. When the meeting moves, the order moves with it, and when it is cancelled, the kitchen is told. See meeting catering and facilities services.
