We're excited to introduce the latest version of the Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) integration that makes user synchronization lighter, faster, and fully aligned with Microsoft’s latest best-practice architecture.
With the new App Provisioning framework, AskCody moves to Microsoft’s modern SCIM engine. The change happens behind the scenes, yet the benefits show up almost immediately:
-
Synchronisation is quicker and lighter, as SCIM ships only the incremental changes, allowing directory updates to reach AskCody in minutes without hammering Entra ID with full exports
-
Permissions follow Microsoft’s least-privilege model, eliminating the need for any unnecessary permissions
-
Assign a Microsoft Entra ID Security Group to an AskCody role once, and the platform takes care of every new hire, team move, or departure that lands in that group
Why the change?
-
Higher performance & scale: SCIM-based provisioning handles large directories with less load and no throttling
-
Security by design: Follows Microsoft’s “least-privilege” model and eliminates the need for any unnecessary permissions
-
Less admin effort: Group-based provisioning lets IT assign a security group once; AskCody then keeps membership and roles in sync automatically
How to get started
-
Create an enterprise application to manage user synchronization within Microsoft Entra ID
-
Assign your Security Groups (e.g., “Senior Partners,” , “Personal Assistants”, “Facilities Admins”) to that application
-
Enable App Provisioning in AskCody (Admin Center → Integrations → Entra ID Integration)
-
Start provisioning. The first sync starts running immediately, and subsequent changes arrive automatically (≤ 1 hour)

By adopting Microsoft’s modern SCIM engine we’ve cut sync times from hours to minutes, removed excess permissions, and given IT a single-group model that grows as fast as your organization.
